MSYO: Final Summer Audition - August 27

Interested in joining the MSYO? We will be accepting new players in all sections for our 2018/19 concert season. Our final audition of the summer will take place on Monday, August 27. Audition times are available between 4pm - 9pm

Auditions will be held inside the Living Arts Centre. A $30 audition registration fee will apply to all applicants. Auditions are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Admission to the MSYO is based on the playing ability of the candidate. The required audition serves to assess the skill level of the applicant for placement in an ensemble. To schedule an audition for the MSYO, please contact Ryan Tobin at: ryan.tobin@mississaugasymphony.ca.

The MSYO is divided into three ensembles:

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

This ensemble is comprised of all instruments of a full symphony orchestra. The aim is to provide musicians the exposure to symphonic music in a professional setting with focus on education and performance. The suggested age for admission is between 14 and 21 years old. PHILHARMONIC

The Philharmonic is an intermediate ensemble comprised of all instruments of the symphony orchestra. The aim is to provide musicians the exposure to symphonic music in a professional setting with focus on education and performance. The suggested age for admission is between 14 and 21 years old. SINFONIETTA

The Sinfonietta is an ensemble comprised of instruments of the string family. The aim is to provide an environment for musicians to learn the skills necessary to progress to the Symphony Orchestra. The suggested age for admission is between 10 and 14 years old. Audition requirements for the Sinfonietta are available for download here.
