MSO Opera - Apr. 29: Carmen

March 27, 2017

We are thrilled to present our debut venture into fully staged opera with Bizet's exotic drama, Carmen. Set in southern Spain, Carmen tells the story of an alluring gypsy girl who captures the heart of a naïve soldier, Don Jose. Jose deserts his military duties and childhood sweetheart to be with Carmen, only to lose her love to a glamorous toreador, Escamillo. What ensues is a stirring drama that has thrilled global audiences for generations.
