Dec 15: A Merry Little Christmas - Mississauga Children's Choir
December 9, 2019
The Mississauga Children’s Choir was established in 1980 and is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary season. With Jennifer Tung as the Artistic Director, MCC is committed to representing the communities in which it serves and fosters inclusivity and diversity. Early successes for MCC included winning the “Best Stage Performance” trophy at the 1984 Mississauga Rainbow Festival. In 2005, the MCC was awarded the Mississauga Arts Council’s Established Performing Arts Award, and in 2010 the choir was awarded first place by the ACCC at the national competition for amateur choirs. More recently, the MCC was thrilled to perform with the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra for the first time in 2019, lending voices to their production of Puccini’s La Boheme. The senior choir also performed at Carnegie Hall in 2019 and attended a workshop at the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York. In 2020, the tour choir will be heading to Los Angeles and Anaheim, California.
